The postal voting process for expatriate and domestic voters is progressing rapidly through the Postal Vote BD mobile app ahead of the upcoming elections, the Election Commission (EC) reported.
According to the EC’s latest data, nearly 900,000 postal ballots have reached returning officers across the country.
By 9 am on Wednesday, 766,862 ballots sent to expatriate voters had reached their respective countries. Of these, 528,579 voters collected their ballots, and 515,619 have already cast their votes. A total of 507,327 ballots were deposited in mailboxes, including 481,185 that arrived in Bangladesh, with returning officers receiving 444,436 of them.
Domestic postal voting has also seen strong participation. The Bangladesh Post delivered 760,898 ballots within the country. Voters collected 610,650 ballots, and 580,665 have been returned after voting. Of these, 561,139 were deposited at post offices, and returning officers received 438,951 ballots.In total, nearly 900,000 postal ballots sent to both expatriate and domestic voters have now reached returning officers, signalling robust participation ahead of the 13th parliamentary election.
