Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has laid special emphasis on performing duties with professionalism, neutrality, discipline, patience, and citizen-friendly conduct.
He made the remarks while visiting Shariatpur district in connection with the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum 2026.
According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief held a coordination meeting at the conference room of Shariatpur District Circuit House with senior military officials, members of law enforcement agencies from Shariatpur, Faridpur and Munshiganj districts under the Dhaka Division, and officials of the civil administration.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on strengthening inter-agency coordination and overall security management to ensure that the forthcoming national parliamentary election and referendum are conducted in a peaceful, neutral and fair manner.
During the visit, the Army Chief also inspected the activities of Army personnel deployed under the “In Aid to the Civil Power” framework and provided necessary directives to ensure the effective and responsible execution of their duties.
Senior military officials, including the General Officer Commanding of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, the General Officer Commanding of the 9 Infantry Division and Area Commander of Savar Area, along with senior officials from Army Headquarters and Savar Area, were present during the visit. Senior officials of the civil administration, law enforcement agencies, and representatives from various media outlets were also in attendance.
