Bangladesh and Malaysia have expressed optimism that sustained cooperation will further strengthen bilateral relations and deliver tangible economic benefits for both countries, particularly in trade, investment and industrial collaboration.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury held a meeting with Saw Seong Ho, Chairman of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Johor Branch, and other committee members to explore new avenues for deepening economic cooperation, according to a message received in Dhaka.
During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding bilateral trade and investment opportunities, focusing on industrial partnerships, joint ventures, and enhanced business-to-business linkages.
The High Commissioner invited the FMM to participate in the upcoming “Global Sourcing Expo 2025” in Dhaka from December 1–3, highlighting the event’s potential to promote direct engagement between Bangladeshi and Malaysian businesses.
The FMM leaders expressed strong interest in exploring joint ventures in Bangladesh’s ready-made garment sector and announced plans to send a business delegation to Bangladesh in the near future.
Among others, FMM Vice Chairman Gerard Sanker, Chan Chee Meng, Committee Members Michael Lok and Jason, Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner Ms. Mosammat Shahanara Monica, and First Secretary (Commercial) Pranab Kumar Ghosh were present at the meeting.
