President Mohammed Shahabuddin is set to administer the oath of office to the BNP-led cabinet-elect at the National Parliament’s South Plaza on Tuesday afternoon.
Bangabhaban’s Darbar Hall has been traditionally used for the government oath-taking ceremony, but this time, the Parliament will serve as the host, according to sources at the Chief Adviser’s Office.
At the event, Prime Minister-elect and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will take oath with his chosen cabinet members, party sources said.
On Tuesday morning, before the government swearing-in, the lawmakers elected in Thursday’s election will take oath. Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin will administer the oaths to the 297 elected lawmakers, said Parliament Secretary Kaniz Mawla.
