The government has announced three official Hajj packages for 2026, with costs ranging between Tk 4.67 lakh and Tk 6.90 lakh, Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain said at a press briefing yesterday.
Hajj Package-1 (Special), priced at Tk 6.90 lakh, offers accommodation within 700 metres of the Haram Sharif in Makkah and in Madinah’s Markazia area. Up to five people will share each room, with six attached bathrooms. Pilgrims will stay in Zone-2 tents in Mina with meals provided by the Moallem, alongside D+ category services in Mina and Arafah.
Hajj Package-2, costing Tk 5,58,881, provides accommodation 1.2–1.8 km from the Haram Sharif in Makkah and in Markazia, Madinah. Rooms will house up to six people with attached bathrooms, and tents in Zone-2 in Mina will include meals and D category services. Room upgrades and short-stay options (22–30 days instead of the usual 35–47) are available at extra cost.
Hajj Package-3, newly introduced at Tk 4.67 lakh, is the most budget-friendly. Accommodation will be in Makkah’s Azizia area and outside Markazia in Madinah, with six people per room. Pilgrims will stay in Zone-5 tents in Mina, with food and D category services included. Air-conditioned buses will transport pilgrims daily to the Haram Sharif for prayers. This marks the first time the government has arranged Azizia-based accommodation.
In addition, a General Hajj Package for Private Agencies has been set at Tk 5.09 lakh. Agencies adopting this package may also announce two more packages of their own.
The adviser noted that the minimum daily food cost per pilgrim is estimated at 35 Saudi Riyals, and pilgrims must bring sufficient funds to cover meals and personal expenses.
