The interim government has decided to give former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia VVIP status, considering her health condition and the need for smooth treatment and security.
The decision was taken today at a special meeting of the Council of Advisers at the State Guest House Jamuna, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Planning Adviser Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud told reporters that the government made this decision to ensure Khaleda Zia receives proper treatment at the hospital, including possible arrangements for treatment abroad if needed, along with special security and travel privileges.
He said all concerned agencies have been asked to enforce the decision immediately, and Khaleda Zia’s family and party have already been informed.
The meeting also offered prayers for her quick recovery.
The government has requested the people of the country to pray for her early recovery as well.
