The government will sell meat, eggs and milk at subsidised prices for 26 days, from the day before the holy month of Ramadan until the 25th of Ramadan.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock disclosed the information in a press release on Tuesday (3 February).
According to the release, the subsidised products will be sold to consumers through mobile sales centres across the country during the period.
Dressed broiler chicken will be available at Tk245 per kilogram, pasteurised milk at Tk80 per litre, eggs at Tk8 per piece, and beef at Tk650 per kilogram, the release said.
The initiative aims to ensure the supply of essential protein items at affordable prices and to provide relief to consumers during the holy month of Ramadan.
