The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results were published on Thursday morning, showing a sharp decline in both the overall pass rate and the number of students achieving GPA-5 compared to last year.
This year’s pass rate stands at 58.83%, down by 18.95 percentage points from 77.78% in 2024.
A total of 69,097 students obtained GPA-5 across 11 education boards, including nine general boards—less than half of the 1,45,911 GPA-5 holders recorded last year.
The results were officially announced by Professor Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, during a press briefing at the Dhaka Education Board on Wednesday.
