BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s transfer to London for advanced treatment may be further delayed, her personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said.
He explained that the air ambulance could not arrive due to a technical issue, and the medical board decided it was not safe for her to fly at this time. Dr. Zahid said she will travel abroad only when her condition allows.
Khaleda Zia, admitted to Evercare Hospital on November 23 with breathing difficulties from a lung infection and pneumonia, also has chronic conditions including kidney, liver, arthritis, and diabetes. The medical board, including specialists from the UK, USA, China, and local doctors, is prioritizing her treatment and safety.
Dr. Zahid urged the public to avoid spreading rumors about her condition.
