Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has said that the proper implementation of the July National Charter will help Bangladesh move beyond its past challenges and guide the nation toward a new and hopeful future.
“This is a moment of historic transformation. What the Commission is handing over today represents the framework for that implementation process,” Yunus said while addressing the recommendations handover ceremony at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka.
“If we can faithfully carry out this process and advance the work, Bangladesh will be freed from the burdens of its past. This Charter will serve as our guide to a new beginning,” he added.
Calling the day a “historic milestone,” Professor Yunus reflected on the journey that began with the uprising and the July Declaration, followed by the adoption of the July National Charter. “Today marks another significant step — the start of its implementation,” he said.
The Chief Adviser expressed his gratitude to National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz and other members of the Commission for their “dedicated and tireless efforts” in turning the vision into reality.
“As a result of their hard work, we will now discuss and begin the implementation process,” Yunus said.
Professor Yunus later presented the recommendations outlining the framework for executing the July National Charter. Members of the National Consensus Commission and interim government advisers were present at the ceremony.
