Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all meetings, assemblies, processions, sit-ins, human chains and mass gatherings in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat and the official residence of the Chief Adviser, Jamuna.
The restriction has been issued under Section 29 of the DMP Ordinance for maintaining public order and security, according to a DMP press release today.
The ban will take effect from Monday, January 5, 2026, and will remain in force until further notice.
It will apply to the areas between Hotel InterContinental Crossing, Kakrail Mosque Crossing, Officers Club Crossing and Mintu Road Crossing.
