A total of 326,020 expatriate ballots cast via the “Postal Vote BD” mobile app for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the Referendum have so far arrived in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, 472,410 overseas voters have already completed their voting.
Salim Ahmad Khan, Team Leader of the ‘OCV-SDI’ project on expatriate voter registration, confirmed on Wednesday (4 February) that, 766,862 ballots registered through the app had reached expatriate destination countries. Of these, 524,869 voters had received their ballots, and 472,410 had completed voting as of 9:30am.
He added that 431,748 ballots had been submitted to post offices or ballot boxes abroad, while 326,020 had so far reached Bangladesh.
Domestically, the Election Commission (EC) has dispatched postal ballots to 662,191 registered voters within the country (ICPV).
According to EC data, by 9:30am, 170,989 voters had received their ballots via the Postal Vote BD app. Of these, 131,691 had completed voting, while 104,165 had submitted their ballots to post offices or ballot boxes.
Salim Ahmad Khan further stated that, in total, 1,429,053 voters—both expatriate and domestic—registered to vote in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the Referendum using the mobile app.
